What is a Day of Mindfulness?A Mindfulness Day is a “mini-retreat” which gives us the chance to practice the Art of Mindful Living with our families, with friends or with a sangha. Each moment of the day is lived in full awareness of our existence and our actions: whether standing, sitting, or lying down; while eating, walking, or calmly drinking a cup of tea. Walking meditation or sitting meditation, listening to a dharma talk, eating a meal in silence, and total relaxation are some of the day’s activities, helping us to let go of regrets over the past or concerns about the future. " To practice Mindfulness at all times in our daily lives... It's easy to say, but not so easy to do! That is why I suggest to all practitioners to try and set aside one day each week to devote entirely to the Practice. This day can serve as a lever, helping us to establish the habit of living in Mindfulness. Discover the present moment. Only in the present can life be found. Do not worry about the future. Do not upset yourself with regrets over things you may have done in the past. On this day you don’t have to do anything, you don't have to go anywhere. " To be a bud, sitting calmly on a stem, To be a smile, taking part in this wonderful existence. Stay still. No need to go anywhere. Thich Nhat Hanh A Day of Mindfulness, spent joyfully together, can make all the difference!
